For AA-020
and AA-100, prior knowledge of Jewellery Designing is mandatory.

Candidates
applying for all Computer-based courses should have the basic knowledge of
computers.

An
entrance examination will be conducted for AZ-001, AB-010, AA-090 only.
AZ-001 – MASTERS DIPLOMA
IN JEWELLERY DESIGN TECHNOLOGY
This course is a must for all jewellery designing enthusiasts who are
serious in making Jewellery Designing their prime career.
The aim of the course is
to train the young professionals in all the facets of jewellery designing so
as to become avant-garde (ultra-modern) jewellery designers. At the end of
the course, the students will be able to -

digitized inventory,

AB-010 – DIPLOMA IN JEWELLERY DESIGN TECHNOLOGY
This six-month course is
introduced to fulfill the growing needs of jewellery industry. It is
structured keeping in mind the need of modernization and upliftment of the
jewellery industry. The aim of the course is to train the young
professionals in jewellery designing with conventional and modern
techniques. This course is a subset of the MDJDT course with a focus on
designing jewellery only. At the end of the course, the students will be
able to -

AA-020 – ADVANCED JEWELLERY RENDERING
This
short-term course helps an existing jewellery designer improve his/her
jewellery drawing and colouring skills using the most advanced rendering
techniques. The designs made with the help of these modern techniques, will
add an exclusive dimension to the existing jewellery designer’s portfolio.
The techniques taught in the course will also help the designer to reduce
the time taken to create the design on paper.

AA-030 – FASHION
JEWELLERY
With the decrease in
popularity of traditional ethnic jewellery amongst today’s youth, the focus
is shifting towards jewellery being more innovative, colourful and trendy.
This unique course teaches the student to design and create jewellery which
need not be expensive. The student will learn how to make exceptional
jewellery combining easily found materials and simple techniques. This
course is meant for those who are interested in making unconventional and
fashionable jewellery.

AA-040 – GEMMOLOGY
With the invasion of
synthetic gemstones in the market, it has become imperative for a jeweller
to be able to identify the authentic gemstones and discard the fake ones.
With the help of this course, the student will learn to identify accurately
the stone, classify the inclusions using the microscope and distinguish
between natural and synthetic stones and between treated and non-treated
stones.

AA-050 – DIAMOND GRADING
This course teaches the
student the identification and classification of polished diamonds. The
student will be able to precisely identify the quality of the diamond by
determining its 4 C’s – Carat, Clarity, Colour and Cut. The student will
also learn to use the loupe 10x. The student will be given a brief
introduction to the most important imitations, treatments and synthetic
diamonds.

AB-090 – CERTIFICATE IN JEWELLERY DESIGN
This four-month short-term
course is introduced for people who want to pursue only conventional
jewellery designing. This course is the shortest and the most economical of
the jewellery designing courses. At the end of the course, the students will be

This array of short courses is meant for
existing jewellery designers aspiring to be successful globally. The course

including its history, famous designers, motifs used, materials used, tools
and techniques used for creating jewellery. This course is a must for
jewellery designers endeavoring to export their designs to different foreign
markets.

BB-010 – COMPUTER
ASSISTED JEWELLERY DESIGNING
This course teaches the
student how to design 3D jewellery with the help of specialized computer
software for jewellery designing. Designing jewellery with the help of
computer software, helps the designer precisely explain his/her design to
the buyer and the manufacturer. With the advent of such software packages

BB-030 – COMPUTER ASSISTED JEWELLERY PRESENTATION

course teaches the student various techniques to improve the aesthetics of

the visual appearance of a particular jewellery design piece is of paramount
importance. The course will teach the student to create photorealistic
images of jewellery designs and to further compile them to make catalogues
on paper or any other digital media.

CC-020 – DIPLOMA IN JEWELLERY EXPORTS MANAGEMENT
With the help of this course, students are exposed to the various
departments of the Export-Import trade in the jewellery business. Besides
covering various export-related topics such as marketing, packaging,
shipping, financing, documentation and policies related to the jewellery
trade, the course also emphasizes the role of the Export Promotional
Council. The course material is constantly revised to reflect changes in
policies, procedures.

JEWELLERY BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
This is a special course

DD-010 – METALCRAFT LEVEL 1 - BRONZE
This
course forms the foundation of understanding how hand-made jewellery is
manufactured. The student will be introduced to the tools and machinery used
in jewellery manufacturing and will also learn the fundamental manufacturing
processes including design transfer, piercing, drilling, filing, soldering
and annealing. At the end of the course, the students will make their own
rings, pendants, earrings and bangles.

DD-020 – METALCRAFT LEVEL 2 - SILVER
This
course will teach the students two very important jewellery manufacturing
techniques viz. minakari or enamelling and setting of stones. The students
will learn various enamelling techniques including champleve and cloissone
which will help them make their own enamelled bangles, bracelets and
neckpieces. Furthermore, the students will learn the different settings used
for stones including bezel and prong setting. At the end of the course, the
students will make their own enamelled pieces and studded jewellery.

DD-030 – METALCRAFT LEVEL 3 - GOLD
This course will teach the
students the most useful jewellery manufacturing technique - wax modelling.
As wax can be sculpted easier than metal, the students through this course
will be able to add another dimension to their jewellery pieces. Good wax
modellers are very rare and charge a premium for their work. At the end of
the course, the students will make their own jewellery wax models - both
unstudded and studded.

DD-040 – METALCRAFT LEVEL 4 - PLATINUM
To be able to compete with the
jewellery industries on a global scale, the student needs to have a thorough
understanding of investment casting. This course teaches the students this
extremely important technique which will help them make master models used
in mass production of jewellery. The students will make their own rubber
moulds, through models made in Level 3, and then cast their own jewellery
pieces.
